Racism and Police Brutality in 2020
Monday Jun 15, 2020
Monday Jun 15, 2020
In 2020 Black people are still subject to racism in ways many thought ended with the Civil Rights Movement during the 60s. Video of police killing unarmed Black people routinely hit the internet, which often leads to protests and shaming of law enforcement. The systematic oppression that Black people still live under weighs heavy on us mentally, spiritually, and physically. The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and most recently Rayshard Brooks are reminders that America is not close to solving racism. Today the men from Off The Record share our thoughts and feelings on these tragedies. We will close out the show discussing "canceled" celebrities and explain why some Black entertainers get in the way of our fight for equality.
